Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We've got answers.

What types of vehicles do you service?
We service diesel trucks (Ford Power Stroke, GM Duramax, Ram Cummins, and commercial platforms), gasoline-powered cars and SUVs, and light- to medium-duty trucks. Whether it's your personal vehicle or a work truck, we can help.
What is a DPF and how do I know if mine needs cleaning?
A Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) captures soot and particulate matter from your exhaust. Signs it needs attention include a DPF warning light, check-engine light, reduced engine power or limp mode, increased fuel consumption, frequent regeneration cycles, or excessive exhaust smoke. Professional cleaning typically costs $300-$700 and can save you thousands compared to a $2,500-$4,500+ replacement.
How often should a DPF be cleaned?
The first professional ash cleaning is typically needed around 150,000-200,000 miles for highway-driven trucks, with follow-up cleanings every 100,000-150,000 miles. Severe-duty trucks that do a lot of city driving, idling, or short trips may need cleaning as often as every 50,000-75,000 miles. Have it inspected sooner if you see warning signs.
Do you work on both gas and diesel vehicles?
Absolutely. While diesel repair is our specialty, we offer full-service repair and maintenance for gasoline-powered cars, SUVs, and light trucks as well. We work on all makes and models, domestic and import.
How long does a typical repair take?
Routine services like oil changes and brake jobs are often completed the same day. More involved repairs like engine work or transmission rebuilds may take a few days. We provide a time estimate upfront and keep you informed.
Do I need an appointment?
We recommend scheduling an appointment to ensure prompt service, but we do our best to accommodate walk-ins when our schedule allows. Give us a call at (708) 839-1515 to check availability.
