Preventive Maintenance

The best repair is the one you never need. Stay ahead of problems with routine maintenance.

Routine maintenance is the single most effective way to avoid costly breakdowns and extend the life of your vehicle. At Sandi Auto & Truck, we help you stay ahead of problems with maintenance services tailored to your vehicle and driving habits.

Oil & Filter Changes

Clean oil is the lifeblood of your engine. Modern diesel trucks typically require oil changes every 7,500-10,000 miles using CK-4 or CJ-4 low-ash synthetic oil (Ford Power Stroke holds 13 quarts, Duramax 10 quarts, Cummins 12 quarts). Using the correct low-SAPS oil is critical for DPF longevity.

Fluid Flushes & Exchanges

Transmission fluid should be changed every 60,000-100,000 miles (Ford TorqShift, Allison 1000, Ram 68RFE). Coolant flushes every 100,000-150,000 miles with the correct OAT or ELC coolant. We also service brake fluid, power steering fluid, and differentials on schedule.

Belt & Hose Inspection

Cracked belts and swollen hoses are ticking time bombs. We inspect serpentine belts, timing belts, coolant hoses, and heater hoses as part of routine maintenance and replace them before they leave you stranded.

Battery Testing & Replacement

Illinois winters are hard on batteries. We test your battery health and charging system to make sure you will start on the coldest morning. If your battery is on its way out, we replace it and ensure clean connections.

Tire Services

We offer tire rotation, balancing, flat repair, and TPMS sensor service. Properly maintained tires improve fuel economy, handling, and safety. We also check alignment and recommend correction if needed.

Multi-Point Inspections

Heading into winter or planning a long trip? We perform comprehensive vehicle inspections covering brakes, tires, fluids, belts, hoses, lights, wipers, and more. Know the condition of your vehicle before issues arise.

Diesel-Specific Maintenance

Diesel engines have unique maintenance demands: fuel filter changes every 15,000-20,000 miles, DEF fluid top-offs, glow plug inspections, turbo system checks, and DPF health monitoring. We follow manufacturer intervals and adjust for your specific use case, whether that is daily towing or fleet operation.

Fleet Maintenance Programs

Managing a fleet of work trucks? We offer fleet maintenance programs designed to minimize downtime and control costs. We schedule routine service, track maintenance history, and prioritize repairs that keep your business moving.
